Twitter global vice president and head of content partnerships Kay Madati will leave the company effective Dec. 13, to be replaced on an interim basis by global vp of revenue and content partnerships Matt Derella.
Madati revealed his departure in a series of tweets Sunday evening, saying that he was not sure what his next step would be, “but I’m ready for the time and space to be ‘still,’ before being open again to the ever evolving intersection of the tech, media and entertainment industry.”
He tweeted, “It has been a fast and furious sprint over my tenure here, and for me, in both my life and at the pinnacle of success that we have collectively achieved as a business, now seems a good time to pass the baton and allow this team to drive the business forward without me.”
Derella confirmed the move in a tweet of his own, saying that he and Madati would work together to find a permanent successor.
He joined BET in September 2014 after serving as head of entertainment and media on Facebook’s global marketing solutions team.
In an internal memo anonymously shared via email, Derella said global head of partner solutions Lara Cohen; director, content sales, global content partnerships Laura King; global head of Twitter ArtHouse Stacy Minero; and head of U.S. content partnerships Laura Froelich will report directly to him.
