Glassdoor Finds That Twitter Is the Top-Paying Social Network in 2019 – Adweek

Twitter topped its social network competition on job and recruiting site Glassdoor’s list of the 25 highest paying companies in 2019, coming in at No. 3 overall with a median base salary of $162,852.

Other social networks to crack the top 25 were LinkedIn (No. 7, $157,402) and Facebook (No. 8, $152,962).

The list was dominated by tech firms, many of which are based in Silicon Valley.

Other tech firms that made the list were: Palo Alto Networks (No. 1), Nvidia (2), Google (5), VMware (6), Salesforce (9), Microsoft (10), Juniper Networks (11), ServiceNow (12), PlayStation (14), Autodesk (15), Workday (16), Synopsys (17), eBay (18), Qualcomm (20), Tableau Software (21), Western Digital (22), Veritas (23) and Adobe (24).

Glassdoor said it compiled its list based on input from U.S.-based employees on its platform from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, factoring in base salary and other forms of compensation including commissions, tips and bonuses.

Companies must have received at least 75 salary reports during the time period above to qualify for the list, Glassdoor added, noting that subsidiaries of companies were considered if they met the methodology and had their own distinct job listings and profiles on Glassdoor.

Technology made its mark on the list of 25 highest-paying jobs for 2019, as well.

Positions to crack the top 25 included enterprise architect (No. 5), software engineering manager (7), software development manager (10), applications development manager (12), solutions architect (13), data architect (14), information technology program manager (16), systems architect (17), user experience manager (18), site reliability engineer (19), cloud engineer (20), data scientist (22), information security engineer (23) and analytics manager (24).

Glassdoor said in a release, “In previous economic research, we found that company culture and values, trust in senior leadership and career opportunities matter most when it comes to keeping employees satisfied in their jobs. So, while salary is a factor to consider when determining where to work, it shouldn’t be the only information used to make that important decision.”
